The Women’s Heritage Cup Inaugural Tournament will be held within 16 miles of Johns Hopkins University and will wrap world competition around the schedule of the Collegiate Championship. A mirror of the Men’s Heritage Cup, our mission is shared: to raise awareness and funds to support the development of in-country lacrosse programs around the globe while adding a new and different offering to the world of women’s lacrosse.
Heritage Cup is an opportunity for US-based athletes to compete internationally for their respective country under the Heritage eligibility for non-passport holders (parent or grandparent born in country) established by World Lacrosse. Document checks will not be conducted at Heritage Cup, but teams are expected to honor the spirit of the event.
Teams participating in Heritage Cup may be comprised of players representing their traditional heritage or athletes born, raised, or living in that country. In any case, the opportunity to explore and expand that legacy through lacrosse is something special! The attraction of playing lacrosse, while connecting with your cultural identity, then driving up the road 25 minutes to see the NCAA DI Championships is a wonderful celebration!
